Heartfelt congratulations should be extended to J.H. Bruns Collegiate’s student leadership team for successfully organizing a comprehensive student-led food drive to support a middle school.

Students from J.H. Bruns demonstrated their generosity by spearheading a breakfast-food drive for Lavallee School, with 100 per cent of the student body contributing donated items. This initiative serves as an excellent example of our students actively embodying our strategic priorities within Louis Riel School Division’s multi-year strategic plan, particularly in the realm of generosity.

Our strategic priorities centre around the ethics of care and hospitality, aimed at fostering thriving learners and flourishing communities. This student-led endeavour highlights the significance of responsibility for care and hospitality, emphasizing that it is not solely the duty of staff and government entities. The true essence of care and hospitality shines through when it is initiated and carried out by individuals for the benefit of others within the community.
