Chase Williams is a 13-year-old Grade 8 student at École Howden and he’s also a multi-sport athlete who plays soccer and volleyball.
His favourite sport, though, is soccer.
“I really enjoy soccer. I enjoy the beauty of the game. Playing with my teammates, (they) are some of the funniest guys I know. I play goalkeeper. I love that every save I make helps my team and I love the pressure of helping my team win,” Chase said.

Chase Williams, a 13-year-old goalkeeper with Bonivital Soccer Club, intends to work hard to achieve his dream of becoming a professional player.
“My coach, Bryce, has a similar passion for the game. He challenges me to elevate my game. My goalie coach Jeff helps me with my technique and mental strength. Also, the entire Bonivital Soccer Club – Xavier, Jean, Cary, and many more have helped me to achieve my goals so far.”
Chase and his dad James, mom Chelsey, and sisters Elle and Isla live in Windsor Park.
“I would like to say thank you to my parents for pushing me to be a better person, a better teammate, and for always being willing to drive me no matter how many times a week I need to be driven,” he said. “Thank you for helping to encourage my love of the game.”
Chase is a hard worker who enjoys school and is dedicated to being as good as he can be on the pitch to help his teammates reach their goals, too.
“I want to excel as a keeper and help my team to win the league championship again,” he said. “My goal and dream is to become a professional goalkeeper and to play in Europe. Maybe I could play for Team Canada one day!”
That’s the spirit Chase! Work hard and dream big.
Chase has this advice for young athletes:
“You have to be motivated. If it’s your dream, you need to work hard for it. Natural ability helps but if you want to be the best you need to work at it every day. In all team sports to reach your goals you have to be a good teammate, as well.”
