The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce community events calendar reflects the vibrant and diverse community we serve in West Winnipeg. It’s more than just a list of dates; it’s a local guide to what’s going on in our neighbourhood.

With over 4,000 businesses and 100,000 residents in our region, there’s always something happening. Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur, a new startup, a nonprofit leader, or simply someone who enjoys being part of a thriving community, the events calendar is your invitation to get involved.

Upcoming events in July and August:

• Free guided walks at Living Prairie Museum (2795 Ness Ave.) — Fridays in July and August from 11 a.m. to noon;

• Monarch Butterfly Festival at Living Prairie Museum (2795 Ness Ave.) — Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.;

• Morning Mixer (members only) at the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce (2061 Portage Ave.) with guest Coun. Shawn Dobson (St. James) — Friday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; and

• Indoor community expo at Prairie Spirit United Church (207 Thompson Dr.) – Saturday, Aug. 16 from noon to 8 p.m.

We believe that when we support one another, we all thrive. That’s why we encourage everyone, members and non-members alike, to add their events to our calendar, free of charge. By sharing your event through the Chamber, you’re tapping into a network of engaged, community-minded individuals who are eager to support local initiatives. Whether you’re hosting a fundraiser, launching a new business, or organizing a neighborhood cleanup, your event deserves to be seen. Our Community Corner bulletin board, in the front window of our office (2061 Portage Ave.), is another great way to showcase what’s happening in west Winnipeg. Throughout the year many people visit Assiniboine Park, grab a coffee or enjoy an ice cream from Sargent Sundae, which bring a lot of foot traffic. This makes our bulletin board the perfect spot to get your message out and help your event gain more visibility. Want your event to be featured in our front window? Drop off a copy of your event poster or flyer, and we’ll proudly display it (priority given to Chamber business members).

At the Assiniboia Chamber, we know that stronger communities are built through connection, collaboration, and care.
