Ramblin’ with… Winnipeg Pin Collectors Club revisited

After talking with Mr. Ron Boily, WPCC President, and catching up for a while, we decided that there were so many exciting new things going on with WPCC that we needed a follow up column!
In December 2024, the pin club’s 2025 four pin set arrived in Winnipeg from Regina. It featured a limited-edition three-dimensional muskox. This is the best pin set that the WPCC has ever done. Everyone who saw it was very impressed. Most of the sets have been sold — only a few remain. The cost for one set is $28 plus $4 (shipping charge in Canada for one set) for a total of $32. If you wish to order more than one set, please contact Ron Boily about the shipping cost. The cost will be based on weight. Shipping charges to the USA are $10 and to Europe are $15.
Laurie Artiss – The Pin People
“The process of creating pins with a low-relief sculptural element (often called “cubic” or “3D”) has come a long way since our company began over 40 years ago. To achieve this effect in the past, the factories relied on a skilled carver to interpret the image and carve the mold for these pins by hand. Nowadays, we can use 3D-printing technology and design software to create 3D designs, like the Winnipeg Pin Collector’s Club’s muskox pin for 2025. You can see what a huge difference this makes when you compare it to the old process, like the Winnipeg Pin Collector’s Club’s bison pin, created in 2006.
“It’s always exciting to see what new technologies can be brought to manufacturing pins. We are currently busy working on pins for the upcoming Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, N.L., this summer, as well as the Olympic games in Milan and the Arctic Winter Games in Whitehorse next winter. As always, members of the Winnipeg Pin Collector’s Club receive a 10 per cent discount on their pin projects in addition to our optional 5 per cent pre-payment discount. The WPCC is now offering a free membership to people who collect pins and wish to join the pin club.

WPCC volunteered for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at their pin trading tables for the last three Grey Cups that were held in Winnipeg i.e. 1991, 2006 and 2015. It is the president’s sincere hope that we can do this again in 2025.
For more information about any of these exciting undertakings…or any other news please contact Mr. Ron Boily by email at: rjpboily@shaw.ca or by phone at: 204-667-6811.
