A newly redeveloped playground at John Steel Park (300 Westwood Dr.) was officially opened on Sept. 17. The old playground was replaced by a new playground — that features an accessible ramped play structure, independent play equipment, and swings — next to the wading pool at a cost of $308,100, with $218,000 coming from the Canada Community-Building Fund and $90,100 from the City of Winnipeg’s Parks and Recreation Enhancement Program.
