On Nov. 5, over 500 Grade 6 students from across River East Transcona School Division attended the No Stone Left Alone ceremony at Transcona Cemetery’s Field of Honour. At the event, students placed poppies on the graves of all veterans buried there, and saluted living veterans. Waverley MLA David Pankratz sang O Canada, and Transcona MLA Shannon Corbett read In Flanders Fields. Organizer Peter Martin visited each of the schools in preparation for the event, to talk about Remembrance Day and the sacrifices of veterans.
