On Oct. 29, Wee Bairns Infant Centre (260 Redonda St.) cut the ribbon, officially opening a new outdoor play space.

“The new playground has made a world of difference for our program,” executive director Alina Plis said. “The softer, even surface allows our infants and toddlers to move freely, explore confidently, and strengthen their gross motor skills in a safe environment. The added shaded areas give us more flexibility to enjoy outdoor learning and sensory play throughout the day, even on warmer afternoons. We are so grateful for the support and funding that made this dream possible. Our families and staff absolutely love the improved playground.”

The project, which received an outdoor early childhood education grant from the provincial government, was completed this fall at a cost of $22,406.30.
