Yoga studio raises funds for breast cancer
Rogue Vinyasa Yoga Studio (#7-823 Corydon Ave.) is donating proceeds from a select class to the Breast Cancer Support Fund as part of the national Move for the Boob campaign.
The campaign encourages yoga and pilates studios across Canada to raise funds to help families cover the costs of food, rent, child-care, and transportation during breast cancer treatment.
“Cancer doesn’t just affect your health. It affects your ability to work, care for your family, and manage everyday expenses,” said Donna Sheehan, founder and executive director of the Breast Cancer Support Fund, in a statement. “Move for the Boob is about communities coming together to help relieve some of that financial pressure so patients can focus on getting through treatment.”
Rogue Vinyasa’s Move for the Boob class is set for Saturday, May 9 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Riverview C.C. to hold spring showcase May 1
Riverview Community Centre (90 Ashland Ave.) will soon host some local musical talent performing for a good cause.
The facility will hold a spring showcase event on Friday, May 1 featuring Baltimore Road and Cat’s Advice. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show starting at 7.
