Commuter challenge runs May 31 to June 6
Green Action Centre’s commuter challenge — an annual event which encourages Manitobans to try carpooling, transit, biking, walking or working from home instead of driving alone — begins on Sunday, May 31.
“This year marks 26 years of the Commuter Challenge,” Green Action Centre’s Lilja Best said in a statement. “We can see gas prices on the rise, and vehicle costs that are out of reach for many Manitobans. When it comes to sustainability, not only will moving away from driving alone be a green choice for the environment, but it’ll add some green to the wallets of Manitobans as well!”
Individuals can register, and organizations across Manitoba are also encouraged to sign-up a workplace coordinator.
The commuter challenge runs May 31 to June 6.
