All candidates forums scheduled for St. Norbert-Seine River ward

Community groups in southwest Winnipeg have organized public forums for residents to ask questions of city council candidates in their wards.
On Sept. 20, the St. Norbert Community Centre (3450 Pembina Hwy.) will host a forum with candidates in the newly formed St. Norbert – Seine River ward. The event begins at 7 p.m.
Candidates scheduled to attend include: Nancy Cooke, Chris Davis, Markus Chambers, Glenn Churchill, Maurice Yvon Williams, and Nikolas Joyal.
The new St. Norbert – Seine River ward includes the neighbourhoods of University, Fort Richmond, Cloutier Drive, St. Norbert, Richmond Lakes, Parc la Salle, La Barriere, Trappistes, Perrault, Turnbull Drive, Normand Park, River Park South, Maple Grove Park, Dakota Crossing and St. Vital Perimeter South.
On Sept. 26, the Fort Richmond – University Heights Neighbourhood Association is hosting a forum with council candidates from St. Norbert – Seine River and school trustee candidates in the Pembina Trails School Division ward three.
The forum will be held in the library at Fort Richmond Collegiate (99 Killarney Ave.) with trustee candidates speaking at 7 p.m. and councillor candidates speaking at 8 p.m.
As of Sept. 14, the nominated trustee candidates in ward three are: Olayinka Brimoh, Alia Harb, Yunusa Salami, Julie Fisher, Simon Strauman, Jasmine Brar, Laurie Lazer-McCorrie, and Laureen Goodridge.
