The Health Sciences Centre Foundation launched its annual fundraising lottery on Sept. 12 by kicking off ticket sales and announcing the six grand prize packages that one lucky winner will be able to choose from, as well as revealing that this year’s lottery will offer more than 2,750 prizes.
Flanked by Millionaire Lottery spokespeople Chrissy Troy and Milt Stegall, foundation president and chief executive officer Jonathon Lyon emphasized that every ticket purchased for the lottery helps Manitoba families by funding new research, treatments and technology.
“Your support saves countless lives and gives you the chance to change your own,” Lyon said at a press conference in one of the prize-package homes at 1757 Grosvenor Ave.
The lottery’s six grand-prize packages are as follows:
• A North River Heights home by Alair Homes ($1.43 million total value) — A brand new, 2,300-square-foot home in European farmhouse style at 1757 Grosvenor Ave., this home comes with all modern conveniences, fully furnished by EQ3, a lower-level development package by Alair Homes, a backyard landscaping package by Ross Creek Landscaping, a $10,000 travel prize from Great Canadian Travel, two 2018 BMWs and $230,000 cash.
• A RidgeWood West home by Sterling Homes ($1.39 million) — This 2,200-square-foot home in Charleswood is close to nature but still part of the city. It comes fully furnished by EQ3, features a loft and comes with a $200,000 travel prize by Great Canadian Travel, two 2018 BMWs and $400,000 cash.
• Bridgwater Trails home by Maric Homes ($1.38 million) — Located at 348 Willow Creek Road, this 2,200-square-foot bungalow has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It comes with a luxury 2018 Toyota 4Runner SRS (and upgrade package) or a $50,000 furniture credit or $50,000 cash.
• A South Winnipeg StreetSide condo and a Vancouver Island cottage ($1.36 million) — This prize combines a new Winnipeg home with a home-away-from-home. The apartment-style condo is located at 516-300 Centre St. in Bridgwater Centre, while the Vancouver Island property adjoins the Pacific Ocean. Package includes $50,000 in EQ3 furnishings, a 2018 Honda Accord Touring 2.0 and $300,000 cash.
• A British Columbia wine country home at Skaha Hills ($1.3 million) — Located in Penticton, B.C., the 1,494-square-foot hillside home features a covered terrace and fireplace. It comes with a $200,000 travel prize, two 2018 BMWs and $400,000 cash.
• $1.1 million in tax-free cash — The last package may be the simplest of all to accept.
This year’s lottery also features early bird bonus prizes, a 50/50 Plus draw that could reach $1.752 million, and a Daily Cash Plus calendar contest featuring cash prizes every day in January.
