Saskatchewan and Manitoba share similar identities. The centre of Canada is steeped in tradition, marked by its vast prairie land and wide-open skies. These two provinces, as well as Northern Ontario, share a connection with the land, with each other and with a hardworking style of life. Though sometimes competitive, residents of the three territories share a desire to keep their families and friends safe. This includes keeping them clear of lurking scammers, unfair business practices, and dishonest treatment.

To help people across these regions do just that, the Better Business Bureau is re-structuring. The staple not-for-profit corporation is forming the BBB of Central Canada to serve the communities of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. Together, it will serve 2.6 million consumers and over 80,000 businesses.

The office will be headquartered in Winnipeg with a regional office in Regina.

The Better Business Bureau has formed a new territory, called the BBB of Central Canada, to serve the communities of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.

The newly established Central Canada region will allow the BBB to serve the territory in a cohesive and service-driven manner, giving its businesses and residents the tools they need to steer clear of scams, to establish their businesses as trustworthy, to increase marketplace trust, and to avoid losing sleep and money to unethical companies.

Your Better Business Bureau has a long history of doing just this. A not-for-profit corporation, the BBB was established in 1912. For more than 100 years, the organization has been helping people find businesses and charities they can trust. Their pursuit to increase trust in the marketplace has manifested in the creation of many different tools that help consumers and companies alike.

Business accreditation, offered by the BBB, helps companies adhere to a strict standard of ethics, creating a greater sense of trust in the marketplace. It provides advice and resources to these organizations to better equip them to serve their customers. The BBB’s business directory allows consumers to quickly and easily find businesses that have committed to these standards and earned their blue accreditation seal. It also helps them find honest reviews and ratings for many businesses in Canada.

The BBB’s ScamTracker helps everyone learn about scams targeting their area so they can stay clear of monetary and emotional hardship. It’s also a place where anyone experiencing uncertainty in a transaction can turn to see what has already been reported about a company or individual.

The newly formed territory will also maintain a personal touch for anyone in need of its services. Anyone interested in business accreditation, advice on operating ethically, resources on cyber safety, a reliable business directory or help with a transaction gone wrong can reach out to the BBB of Central Canada.

From business accreditation to company reviews and ratings to ScamTracker and the countless other programs the Better Business Bureau offers, there’s value for everyone in visiting and learning at bbb.org.
