Hey there, time traveller!

Aside from our houses, the biggest investments we make in our lives iare our vehicles. We rely on them every day, often without giving it too much thought.

We get in and get out and complete all our daily errands and journeys, both personal and professional, while often blissfully unaware of their value. We often don’t realize or appreciate the importance of our automobiles until an issue arises and we lose the freedom they give us – and up stuck trying to find rides with friends and family, spending money on rideshares or taxis, or finding the nearest public transportation option.

That’s why it’s so important to take care of your vehicle and find the right place for it to go when it requires maintenance or repair. With so much scattered information out there, it becomes hard to know where to turn or who to trust. But now there’s a new, free online tool from the Better Business Bureau which has compiled almost everything you need to know in one place. Whether you’re looking for a new car or trying to save money on gas, this database has information that will help keep you safe.

The Better Business Bureau has compiled almost everything you need to know about vehicles in one place.

The site has four main topic areas: advice from experts on scoring the best deal on a car; insights on ridesharing and rentals; tips on insurance, maintenance and repair; and advice on avoiding common car-related scams.

Because transportation is such a big part of our lives, many people look to capitalize on consumer ignorance. Some are conning people by presenting them with fake surveys, alerting them they’ve won ta prize, then stealing their personal information and credit card information after asking for a small shipping fee to “claim their prize.” This happens often with gas gift cards. Other scammers pass off rebuilt or flood-damaged cars without being transparent. Regardless of the level of deception, the outcome is the same – consumers are left angry and robbed of their hard-earned money.

The Better Business Bureau’s new auto hub will give you all the information you need to avoid pitfalls like these and extra savings tips to keep you on the right track for all things automotive. You can quickly and easily find reputable sellers and or look up companies you’re considering to see reliable reviews and ratings.

In a world full of misinformation, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to know where to turn or who to trust. The Better Business Bureau is in a rare position as a not-for-profit corporation with a mandate of advancing marketplace trust. As such, they’re hoping to save Manitobans from the frustration that comes with falling victim to unethical business practises.

This new hub is available, completely free, at www.bbb.org/all/auto. There you can do your research in advance to better protect yourself and your vehicle before you find yourself stuck in the dirt.
