It was all shovels in the ground at Henteleff Park Foundation’s annual tree planting event that took place on June 11.

Organizers say community volunteers, and foundation board and committee members, were joined at the two-hour event by local politicians including Terry Duguid, MP for Winnipeg South; MLA for Riel Rochelle Squires; and Coun. Markus Chambers (St. Norbert-Seine River).

The organization’s president emeritus, Yude Henteleff — who grew up on the land where the park is now located and was integral in its development — also took part.
