The perfect gift is sometimes an experience, a good memory that can bring smiles for a lifetime.
“This is why we are here,” said Pastor Mark Werner of Centerpoint Church at 700 Watt St.
“This is our 18th year for the Christmas camp and we have over 120 kids registered throughout the five days. We have a few spots left but it usually fills up pretty quick.”
Mark has spent about 20 years building the ultimate play place and planning amazing day trips for school aged kids. Loft Town, which fills the upper floor of the church is a kid sized array of small buildings where imaginations can soar. The miniature structures, complete with brick siding and hanging wooden signs, each offers a different type of play from video games, escape rooms to a day spa and general store and foam pit.
“We go big at Christmas but we offer a weekly program, a place for birthday parties and camps throughout the year,” Mark said.
For the Christmas camps you can choose from single days or all five, lunches are included and the kids are guaranteed to have an amazing day with the 12 staff.
Which day would you pick?
Day 1: Fri., Dec. 28, starts with a gingerbread house building contest, a trip to the Cityplace McDonald’s and Munchtopia at the Prairie Theatre Exchange.
Day 2: Mon., Dec. 31, is a trip to CTRL V (a new virtual reality play place) and to the Lindt chocolate store. An overnight sleepover is optional which includes a turkey dinner, tons of games, a show and fireworks.
Day 3: Wed., Jan. 2 is a trip to Fun Park! An enormous indoor playground and arcade.
Day 4: Thurs., Jan. 3 is all about Winterpeg. Free flowing hot chocolate and bakery treats while playing on St. Vital Park’s skating rink and riding the toboggan runs.
Day 5: Fri., Jan. 4 is all about the water. A trip to Portage la Prairie’s indoor water park with a poolside room to lounge in between dips in the wave pool. Everyday includes lunch and only costs $38, the sleepover is an additional $25.
