While researching claims of paranormal activity in Winnipeg, I came across a reference on the internet to Jack Pott’s Thrill Zone being haunted.
Jack Pott’s is located at 2-1609 Regent Ave. West and offers a variety of arcade and carnival games as well as interactive video games, for children of all ages.

These claims alleged that the establishment appeared to be haunted by a male ghost. It was said that music was heard coming from a phone apparatus after closing and that a male voice could be heard saying “Hi Shawn.” The author of the post was unnamed.
As one must never believe everything that they read on the internet, I contacted Jack Pott’s manager, Janet Thompson, to find out if there was any truth to the notion that the arcade is haunted.
Janet has worked at the amusement center for over 17 years and was willing to share a few stories about occurrences that cannot be explained.
She spoke of video games suddenly malfunctioning only to start working again, for reasons unknown. She said she has left work for the evening only to come back in the morning to find arcade prizes on the floor. According to one long-term employee, a clock once fell from a shelf when he was working alone in the building. The game technician also said it was rumoured that a former employee had reported seeing the ghost of a child playing Chuckles the Clown junior basketball game and dash ball toss.
In an attempt to document paranormal activity, Jack Potts’s was visited by paranormal investigators in 2012. Although video taken at the time was not able to confirm the presence of a ghost, it did capture images of what could be described as orbs.
Whenever staff at the amusement centre notice something that defies logical explanation, they will frequently say it was “the ghost!”
Jack Pott’s Thrill Zone offers hours of entertainment for your family. Make sure to keep your eyes and ears open for any evidence of the paranormal and perhaps you can add an experience to the list of the unexplained!
Jack Pott’s is open Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; on Friday from 11 a.m. to midnight and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
