On behalf of the Louis Riel School Division board of trustees, I would like to extend a warm welcome back to all our wonderful students, staff and families, as well as sa pecial welcome to our youngest students starting their journey in public education and to our newly hired staff starting their exciting careers in LRSD.
We hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer and are feeling re-energized. The start of the school year brings so much excitement with the promise of new learning, connections and experiences.
The start of the 2022-2023 school year feels bittersweet for me, as it is my final year on the board after proudly serving as a trustee for more than 30 years. Despite my upcoming departure, I look forward to seeing what this school year brings and the positive change the LRSD community will continue to make on our world.
The start of a school year brings so much excitement with the promise of new learning, connections and experiences.
Our division has so much to celebrate. First and foremost, our amazing community! Even during challenging times, we have accomplished so much. Our students have continued to be engaged learners and we are accomplishing many of the goals we set together in the multi-year strategic plan.
I’d like to extend a special thank you to our facilities, maintenance and transportation team for all the hard work they have been doing to ensure everything was ready for the first day of school. They have been busy. One important task they recently undertook was a comprehensive review of all our school’s ventilation systems and an air-exchange audit.
I’d also like to thank the Free Press Community Review for being such a great partner in helping us celebrate and share incredible successes in LRSD.
Our motto in LRSD is “Thriving Learners – Flourishing Communities” which I feel represents the resiliency and passion of our division. We are truly stronger together.
