A ribbon cutting is the ceremonial opening of a brand new, newly renovated or relocated business. It can be held on the first official day of business or it can take place weeks after the business’s soft opening. Ribbon-cutting requests for anniversary celebrations are also common. We need to do more ribbon cuttings. We need to celebrate the people who start businesses more. Let’s do it together!

The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce has added ribbon-cutting services to its repertoire and recently celebrated two ribbon-cuttings to round out the 2022 year.

2023 is going to see many more.

Orangetheory Fitness (Charleswood-Unicity), C1B – 3647 Portage Ave.

Owner/operator: Lindsey Henley

Ribbon-cutting date: Nov. 26, 2022

Orangetheory is a total-body group workout that combines science, coaching and technology to guarantee maximum results from the inside out. It’s designed to charge your metabolism for more caloric afterburn, more results, and more confidence, all to deliver you more life.

Whether you’re used to a challenging workout or not, Orangetheory’s elite coaches will be there to inspire and give you options to push past your limits. Your success is their success.

Your coach will guide you through our five different heart-rate zones: resting, easy, challenging, uncomfortable and all out, telling you when to push harder and when to pull back for recovery. The goal is to spend just 12 to 20 minutes with your heart rate elevated in “the Orange Zone” to boost your metabolism, burn fat and burn more calories.

The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter is Manitoba’s first registered charity no-kill animal shelter. It places no time limit to an animal’s stay while it finds a suitable home.

Since receiving charitable status in 1999, Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter has saved thousands of pets that were abandoned, unwanted, relinquished or needed to be rescued.

The shelter has found loving homes for all of these innocent animals, but the work is far from done. Many of these animals had either been relinquished by their owners, no longer able or willing to care for them, while others had been abandoned or abused by uncaring individuals.
