The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce hosted its highly anticipated member drive golf event at the picturesque Bel Acres Golf Club in Rosser, Man., on July 11. For the third year running, the event proved a delightful success, bringing together nearly 100 golfers, members, business prospects, and sponsors for a day of networking, camaraderie, and friendly competition.

The primary aim of the golf event was fourfold — to raise awareness for the Chamber by inviting prospective businesses to join the Chamber; to reconnect and provide networking opportunities for existing members; to extend gratitude to new members; and to give sponsors, who are also valued members, a platform to showcase their businesses to the Chamber’s extensive network.

The event was not only a golfer’s delight but also a fantastic opportunity to engage participants and community members. One of the major attractions was the opportunity for most golfers to play for free. New members were extended a token of appreciation while existing members could take advantage of a free round of golf by inviting a prospective member on the promise of a future meet-and-greet conversation to discuss their business goals.

The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce, being a not-for-profit organization, used the event to contribute to the community. Mulligan packages were sold, with proceeds were channelled into the Chamber’s community fund, aimed at supporting local events and activities.

Throughout the day, participants enjoyed various competitions, thanks to generous sponsorships. Exciting opportunities to win prizes for holes-in-one were sponsored by AVO Solutions & Morris Insurance and Schinkel Properties & Super 8. Mini-games such as the Longest Marshmallow Drive, sponsored by BGP Environmental, and Putt the Potatoes by Peak of the Market added a unique and enjoyable touch.

Reflecting on the event’s success, the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce is already looking forward to improving and expanding next year’s golf event. The positive impact on businesses and the opportunity to forge new connections have encouraged the organizers to plan more exciting events in the future.
