How many times have you tried on an article of clothing, slid your fingers down the sides or front of the garment and mumbled, “Gee, I wish this had pockets?”
For Leanne Ryan, a former buyer at Cabela’s who opened her doors at Unit F, 1510 St.Mary’s Rd. in September, deciding that every item in her inventory had to have this feature was a given.
What makes this boutique different? There are lots of options. First, Ryan felt shopping for clothing was sometimes personally awkward. Sizing can be an issue when it comes to style, so that’s what’s hanging on her racks; plenty of sizes and fabrics that scream comfort.

Ponte pants…now there’s a word you might want to Google. These are pants that streamline your figure, are not clingy and, not that you’d want to hide in these, they camouflage in just the right places. Made of bamboo, they earned their sustainability and co-ordinate famously with many of the longer-style tunics in the store.
“I purchase items for women who feel power in the brands they choose,” Ryan said. “I didn’t want customers who fit a 14 or more feeling judged or limited in style.”
From sizes small to 2X, there is something for every demographic and occasion. If you’re thirsty for an outdoor adventure, Columbia is a staple in outerwear as is the line, Indyeva, that has just a bit more “hip feel” to its designs.
For casual, discover bestselling labels such as Jag and I Love Taylor Madison, a youthful line created by two sisters, while Lola Jeans combines denim and quality together. And the good news? Many of the inseams are a standard 28 inches. Ahem!
Terrera, a Montreal company, features flattering silhouettes in its tops and blouses. From sizes small to 2X the colors are numerous and made from earth-friendly fibres such as organic cotton.
Must Love Pockets will be promoting special event Thursday nights in the upcoming months. Visit musthavepockets.ca or call 204-255-9010.
