Hey there, time traveller!

If putting a pause on social media was part of your 2024 resolutions, good for you. If not, you have inevitably seen the in and out lists circulating. It’s a way of setting intentions for the new year and making them unapologetically public.

Why are such lists so popular? Jumping on a trend is always fun and making your intentions public helps followers hold you accountable, but it also tells the world what you will and will not hold space for in your life.

On social media or not, how can resolution lists help you and your business? For business owners, setting priorities and letting your customers know about them can be a delicate thing to communicate. For professionals, setting targets can help you better align your goals for the years ahead. If you find your team lacks collaboration skills, setting a goal to create a team-building coffee break or activity once a month is a great idea. Perhaps you have found yourself struggling to network with peers — we may be biased but joining the chamber is the perfect solution to help you build the confidence you need and gain access to events plus so much more.

Whether you’re a member of the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce, another local chamber, multiple chambers, or none at all, here is our list of ins and outs that we encourage you to adapt for yourself this year:

In for 2024

• Seeking out valuable connections in the community;

• Setting SMART goals;

• Reaching out to industry professionals for support;

• Learning more than you teach;

• Prioritizing personal health.

Out for 2024

• Doing life alone (work and personally);

• Fixating on failures. They happen, learn and move on stronger;

• Keeping your struggles a secret (mentally, physically, financially, professionally);

• Skipping workshops and passing on professional development opportunities;

• Rescheduling important appointments for meetings that could be emails.

Whatever your list may look like, we challenge you this new year to think about what you are adding and removing from your life to make the best version of you (and your business) shine in 2024! We would love the opportunity to come along for the ride. Give us a call or follow us on social media to dive deeper into ways we can help you achieve your goals this year.
