Winnipeg is a city built on hard work, innovation, and connection. Every corner of our community is touched by the dedication of local businesses that do more than provide goods or services – they create jobs, support families, and foster a sense of belonging.
Think about the businesses that make your life a little brighter. Maybe it’s the coffee shop that greets you by name, the family-owned pharmacy that offers trusted advice, or the non-profit organization that’s
changing lives. These businesses are the backbone of our community, and their hard work deserves recognition.

That’s why the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce invites you to nominate outstanding businesses for the 2025 Business Excellence Awards. Whether large or small, new or well-established, every local business has a story worth telling—and you can help share it.
This year’s awards feature categories celebrating the diverse ways businesses contribute to our community. The innovator of the year award highlights businesses introducing creative solutions to Winnipeg’s challenges. The community builder award honours those making a lasting impact through support and leadership. Other categories, such as small and large business of the year, entrepreneur of the year, and EcoLeadership, recognize excellence in customer service, resilience, and sustainability.
Have you experienced the positive impact of a local business? Maybe it’s a restaurant that consistently exceeds your expectations, a business that’s reducing its environmental footprint, or a non-profit that’s enriching the lives of others. Now’s your chance to give them the recognition they deserve.
Nominations open Jan. 29 and close at noon on Feb. 28. Submitting a nomination is quick and simple. Visit www.assiniboiachamber.ca and click on the banner, call us at 204-774-4154, or stop by our office at 2061 Portage Ave. to submit your nomination in person.
Award winners will be announced at our annual general meeting in May 2025, where we’ll come together to reflect on the businesses that make west Winnipeg a special place to live and work. It’s an opportunity to honour their hard work and thank them for their contributions to our community.
