South Winnipeg is coming together for a vital summer food drive to support Harvest Manitoba and evacuees from northern Manitoba who have been displaced by wildfires.
From Monday, June 16 to Saturday, June 21, bring your non-perishable food donations to the Align student apartments at 2537 Pembina Hwy and enjoy a sweet ice cream treat when you make the drop-off. We will be accepting donations between 11:30 am and 6:30 pm. from Monday to Friday and between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. We will also be accepting monetary donations, which can be made on-site with cash or debit and credit cards.
Harvest Manitoba is always short of food donations in the summer and now, with thousands of fire evacuees coming to Winnipeg, the need is even greater. South Winnipeg residents – you have an amazing community spirit, very generous hearts and we know we can count on you to deliver.

Donations of food for wildfire evacuees now staying in Winnipeg will be accepted at the Align student apartments (2537 Pembina Hwy.) from Monday, June 16 to Saturday June 21.
We want to extend a huge thank you to the management team of Arc and Align Student and Co-Living Apartments for providing the space to collect the food donations. Your generosity, your team and your support are outstanding.
Food is being collected on the main floor of the Align student apartment block, on the west side of Pembina Highway, immediately south of Bison Drive. Look for the sign and drive in behind the tower to unload. A volunteer will greet you, accept your donation and offer a sweet ice cream treat. Loads of parking is available if you want to come in and visit with the volunteers.
The Healing Cleaning Company is helping us get the space organized. The Winnipeg Chinese Senior Association is co-ordinating volunteers for the week. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Manitoba Islamic Association and many other faith groups are reaching out to community members to spread the word and gather donations. We also have two very keen schools, Bison Run and École South Pointe collecting food. Many thanks to MP Terry Duguid and MLAs Billie Cross, Jennifer Chen and David Pankratz for helping spread the word.
If you run a business and want to collect food, contact Harvest Manitoba by calling 204-982-3663 and they will drop off a bin and pick it up when it’s full. We hope we can count on your support, if you are able. We recognize grocery costs are up, and times are tight but also know we have huge hearts in South Winnipeg and any small contribution helps.
Let’s fill those bins, South Winnipeg. Together, we can make a real impact.
