Thank you to the people of Winnipeg South Centre for placing your trust in me. I am grateful to have been chosen once again to represent you in Parliament. Over the course of the campaign, I met thousands of people and had many meaningful conversations on doorsteps and at events. There were differences of opinion, but we did resoundingly agree on one thing: this beautiful country is worth protecting. That is the priority of our government.

Our country is facing its most significant challenges in generations. The federal government is acting quickly, with a focus on diversifying our trade, scaling up domestic industries, partnering with provinces and municipalities, and continuing to advance truth and reconciliation, all while leveraging Canadian supply chains and material to accomplish our objectives. As King Charles said in his remarks following the Speech from the Throne, “the True North is indeed strong and free.”

I am pleased to let you know that I was recently elected by my peers from all parties to serve as the chair of the House of Commons industry and technology committee. I have a deep sense of duty and appreciation for the need to collaborate with members across party lines in our service of all Canadians. I was also elected chair of the Prairies and North Caucus for the government. In this capacity, I will facilitate meetings with 11 regional MPs and report directly back to the Prime Minister weekly to advance the interests of our region.

I will continue to be a strong voice for Winnipeg South Centre, amplifying the issues that matter most to you and advocating regularly and directly for Winnipeg South Centre with the Prime Minister, cabinet and our entire government caucus.
