Summer greetings from Red River North

Greetings, constituents. As we continue into the summer season with its warm weather, sunshine, outdoor activities and socializing with friends and neighbours, I hope that everyone is staying safe and keeping well.
I was honoured to attend with mayor, council and community members, the official grand opening of the East St. Paul splash pad. Our former PC government supported this endeavour through the Building Sustainable Communities Grant Program.
It was my privilege to honour Elma Rauser, an artist who resides in the RM of East St. Paul at the Manitoba legislature as the recipient of my June private members statement. Elma was named artist of the month in her community and continues to work her wonderful talents for the world to enjoy. Elma was joined by her daughter Karin Fehr.
The weekend of June 21 was a busy one in Red River North. I attended and brought greetings to the 57th Manitoba Highland Gathering in East Selkirk. The Manitoba Highland Gathering is a wonderful piece of this province’s cultural mosaic and is attended by many local and international travellers each year. This gathering has an important objective, and that is to preserve, promote and educate us all about the rich Scottish culture and heritage.
At the Highland Gathering, I was pleased to present the King Charles 111’s Coronation Medal to Joyce Neyedly, a long time volunteer of the Highland Games.
I also attended East St Paul Days later in the day on Hoddinott Road and was able to visit with many residents of East St Paul at this event. I would like to thank our volunteers, Kai Jassal and his group for volunteering and representing Red River North in the East St Paul Days Parade.
On July 1, I was pleased to attend the Canada Day events at the Royal Canadian Legion and bring greetings on behalf of Red River North. This event was attended by veterans, families and friends of the community, and included activities for the children, a barbeque and a band.
I welcome constituents of Red River North to continue to access our constituency office either by email at rrnorthca@mymts.net or by telephone at 204-641-2107.
