Looking for ways to keep the kids entertained and the whole family active this summer?

Look no further than your own neighbourhood. Corydon Community Centre has a lineup of engaging programs for all ages — from art to athletics. Their summer day camps feature weekly themes and outdoor adventures, with options for ages three to 12.

“Summer camps are important because they give kids a chance to explore new interests, develop independence, and build confidence,” says general manager Abbie Bajon. “It’s a fun, safe environment where they can make friends, stay active, and create lasting memories.”

The community centre offers traditional day camps and tot camps, plus specialized options like sports camp, specialty camp, and hockey camp.

“We strive to meet the growing needs and diversity of interests in our neighbourhood,” Abbie adds. “Our camps are designed to be both educational and recreational, all at a reasonable rate.”

Young athletes can also join outdoor soccer (ages three to eight) or register for beginner and intermediate tennis lessons. Families looking for free, low-commitment fun can enjoy drop-in pickleball sessions all summer long — no experience needed.

“Our camps are all about sparking creativity,” says owner Stephanie Middagh. “We believe growing creativity helps kids problem-solve — not just in art, but in everyday life.”

Camps are themed and there is something for every young creative mind.
