The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate 25 years of continuous accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. This milestone highlights the chamber’s long-standing commitment to honest business practices, clear communication, and strong community support. To mark the occasion, the chamber recently received its 25-year plaque from the BBB, recognizing its dedication to ethical standards and public trust.

The BBB is one of the oldest non-profit organizations in North America, focused on helping people find trustworthy businesses. It acts as a neutral third party, reviewing companies based on how they treat customers and how they operate. Accreditation is not automatic — businesses must apply, meet the standards, and agree to regular reviews to stay accredited.

Accreditation is awarded to organizations that meet high standards for fairness, transparency, and customer care. To qualify, businesses undergo a detailed review and must follow the BBB’s standards for trust. These include eight key principles: building trust; advertising honestly; being open; keeping promises; acting with integrity; responding to concerns; protecting privacy; and telling the truth.

The Chamber first earned its accreditation in 1999 and has successfully maintained it every year since. As of 2025, the Assiniboia Chamber holds an A+ rating, the highest score the BBB awards. This reflects the chamber’s strong track record and its commitment to addressing concerns fairly. While accreditation doesn’t mean the BBB endorses a business’s products or services, it does show that the organization meets high standards and is willing to be held accountable.

The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce works with its members, partners, and the community to support a strong and growing economy in West Winnipeg. As it celebrates 25 years of accreditation, the ACC remains committed to its core priorities: creating opportunities for business networking and social connection among members; advocating to government on behalf of local business interests; informing members about beneficial programs and services; and supporting the principles of the chamber movement: “Good government, good citizenship and good business.”
