Medinav: Making health care more accessible

Happy fall, Union Station!
Our government is committed to making health care more accessible for everyone — and that means giving folks the tools to get the right care, at the right time. One of the ways we’re doing that is through Medinav, Manitoba’s new online booking system for same-day and next-day appointments at participating clinics, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Medinav is simple, secure, and designed to keep emergency rooms and urgent care available for those who truly need it most. Instead of waiting hours in an emergency room for a non-emergency concern, you can book an appointment online and be seen quickly at a clinic. This helps reduce strain on hospitals and ensures critical care spaces stay open for emergencies.
Where can you book?
Medinav connects you to clinics across Manitoba, including minor injury and illness clinics, walk-in connected care, and extended hours primary care clinics. These clinics are for pressing health concerns that aren’t emergencies — think sprains, infections, or minor injuries. Same-day and next-day appointments are available, and you can book for yourself or family members.
How many people are using Medinav?
Since its launch, thousands of Manitobans have booked appointments through Medinav, and usage continues to grow every week. Every booking means someone is getting timely care without overwhelming ERs — and that’s a win for everyone.
How do you book?
It’s easy:
• Create an account at medinav.ca;
• Add your patient profile using your Manitoba Health card;
• Select “Book Appointment,” choose your clinic and reason for visit, and confirm your time;
You’ll get text reminders, so you never miss your appointment. And yes — you can book for your kids, spouse, or dependents under one account. And guess what? Walk-in appointments are available at our extended hours clinics to better serve your needs.
Extended hours clinics: More care when you need it
We know illness doesn’t follow a 9-to-5 schedule. That’s why we’ve opened four extended hours primary care clinics in Winnipeg — at Grace Hospital, Concordia Hospital, Victoria Hospital, and St. Boniface Hospital. These clinics are open evenings, weekends, and holidays, offering care for everything from sore throats and infections to chronic condition management. For Union Station residents, St. Boniface is closest to home, making after-hours care easier than ever. Each clinic is staffed by doctors, nurses, and primary care assistants, and shares your visit details with your family doctor for seamless follow-up. This means you can get care when your regular provider isn’t available — without resorting to the emergency room.
We know there’s more work ahead, but every step like this makes health care stronger and more accessible for Manitobans. Thank you for being part of this progress.
