The provincial government is undertaking a redesign of the North Perimeter Highway.
The project will upgrade highway access by way of grade separated interchanges and make for safer access to what will be a modern freeway system.
The project follows similar upgrades to the South Perimeter Highway, which were completed last year.

The provincial government is undertaking a redesign of the North Perimeter Highway.
The current phase seeks to gather public input while presenting the scope of the project.
By the summer, interchange alternates will be proposed, followed by a second round of public engagement in the fall.
Following evaluation, a preferred functional design will be selected, with a final phase of public engagement slated for the summer of 2024, after which a final design will be selected.
Designs will be evaluated on impacts to both engineering and transportation, as well as community and social impacts.
Cost factors and environmental impacts will also be considered.
