CancerCare Manitoba has announced that Lemonade Stands for Hope, an annual fundraising campaign in support of the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, will return for another year this summer.
Those interested in taking part can register through the foundation, pick up supplies to help make their lemonade (those living more than 30 kilometres outside of the city can also have them mailed), set a date, and are then free to operate independent stands for the cause. Funds collected from the stands will help support cancer research in the province.
The official fundraising weekend will be July 18 to 20, but participants are encouraged to sell their sweet drinks anytime during the summer months. Lemonade stands can be set up on front lawns, at local parks, the workplace, the cabin, or wherever works best.
“We are once again hoping to have more than 200 lemonade stands across the province this summer,” said Sherelle Kwan, development manager at the foundation, in a release. “Lemonade Stands for Hope is a great way for friends, families and communities to come together and raise funds to support those we know and love in our province who have been touched by cancer.”
