School safety patrol winners announced

The Winnipeg Police Service recently announced the winners of the 2024-25 CAA School Safety Patrol Awards.
The top school in the city was École Lacerte (1101 Autumnwood Dr.), while Montrose School (691 Montrose St.) earned second place, Beaumont School (5880 Betsworth Ave.) placed third, and John M. King School (525 Agnes St.) finished fourth.
According to a release, over 7,000 student patrols in the city helped children arrive at school safely this year.
The winner of the 2025 Louise Staples Award, presented to Winnipeg’s top school patrol captain, is Cassidy Jacyk of Inkster School.
First, second, and third place winners were also awarded for each school division within the city. The winners were:
Louis Riel School Division — Shamrock School (1st), Highbury School (2nd), and H.S. Paul School (3rd);
Pembina Trails School Division — Beaumont School (1st), Chancellor School (2nd), and École Van Walleghem (3rd);
St. James-Assiniboia School Division — Lakewood School (1st), Sansome School (2nd), and Voyageur School (3rd);
Seven Oaks School Division — Amber Trails Community School (1st), R.F. Morrison School (2nd), and Margaret Park School (3rd);

WSD Central — George V School (1st), Laura Secord School (2nd), and Clifton School (3rd);
WSD Inner — John M. King School (1st), King Edward Community School (2nd), and Mulvey School (3rd);
