Community members, business owners and artists gathered at the historic Portage and Main intersection on July 8 to celebrate Winnipeg Downtown BIZ’s ‘Cross Portage and Main With Us” event, which commemorated the recent re-opening of the intersection to pedestrians.

At 12:30 p.m., participants crossed the intersection and high-fived those going in the opposite direction. This was caught in an aerial video, which was then posted onto the @downtownwpgbiz Instagram account.

The occasion was also celebrated with food, music and activities.
