Shelters seeking warm following Manwin fire
Following the devastating fire at Manwin Hotel on Jan. 14, the shelter operated by Main Street Project — located next door — and members of the vulnerable population that use the resource were displaced. Because of cold weather and a newfound lack of shelter, MSP and nearby non-profits specializing in support for unhoused people are seeking warm winter clothing — such as warm coats, tuques, scarves, boots, socks, blankets, and more — for those affected.
To drop off donated items, visit either Siloam Mission, located at 300 Princess St. and open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday, or N’Dinawemak – Our Relatives’ Place, located at 190 Disraeli Fwy. and open 24/7.
