Winnipeg Transit recently announced changes to routes running to and through downtown. The changes will be implemented with the spring schedule on April 12.
As of April 12, there will be more trips on the following routes:
• F5, which serves Notre Dame Avenue and McPhillips Street;
• F8, which serves Pembina Highway and Henderson Highway;
• 74, buses added between Polo Park Mall and Old Commonwealth Path;
• 557, which serves South Osborne, Southdale, Island Lakes, and Sage Creek;
• 676, from St. Vital Centre to Bridgwater Centre, and from St. Vital Centre to Creek Bend Road.
The city also announced extended service until after midnight on routes D10, D14, D16, D17, 28, 38, 43, 70, 74, and 680.
Service is to be adjusted on the FX3 east of Kildonan Place mall to reflect lower ridership at some times of day, which will reduce the number of buses travelling each day on Victoria Avenue East, and the FX4 north of McLeod, to reflect lower ridership.
Additionally, Winnipeg Transit expects to make changes to a number of routes in the summer. These proposed changes will be considered by city council on March 4.
