City spray pads open, outdoor pools to begin opening June 19
Splash pads across the City of Winnipeg opened recently, just in time to help residents beat the heat.
Most spray pads operate daily from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until September 7.
Outdoor pools begin opening on June 19, beginning with heated pools and moving onto unheated pools, which should be open by June 26, while wading pools begin opening on a staggered basis on July 1.

Movement Centre of Manitoba to hold perogy run on June 14
The Movement Centre of Manitoba is preparing to hold its 2026 perogy run. The eighth annual event will be at Kildonan Park (2015 Main St.) on Sunday, June 14. Registration will open at 9:30 a.m. and the race will start at 10:30 a.m.
According to the organization’s website, the wheel/walk/run event is being held in support of the centre’s programs and will help kids and adults neuromotor disabilities “live their best lives with independence and confidence.”

Nature Manitoba garden tour, plant sale set for July 4
Nature Manitoba is preparing to hold its 2026 Gardens of Distinction garden tour and plant sale next month.
According to the organization’s website, the fundraiser will be held on Saturday, July 4 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the form of a self-guided tour featuring 13 gardens in northeast Winnipeg.
The event will also include a plant sale at Seven Oaks Arboretum (430 Partridge Ave.).
