Folklorama set to run from Aug. 2 to 15

After countless hours of planning, preparation and volunteer contributions, the 55th annual Folklorama festival is now less than two months away.
This year’s Folklorama festival will run from Sunday, Aug. 3 to Saturday, Aug. 16, and showcase 45 pavilions at venues across the city that encapsulate what makes Winnipeg such a vibrant, diverse and eclectic place to live or visit.
Week 1 pavilions (Aug. 2 to 8) in east Winnipeg include:
• Africa/Caribbean (Holy Eucharist Parish Centre — 460 Munroe Ave.);
• Belgian (Le Club Belge — 407 Provencher Blvd.);
• Ghana (Notre Dame Recreation Centre — 271 avenue de la Cathedrale);
• Japanese (Heather Curling Club — 120 Youville St.);
• Pavilion of Scotland (Centro Caboto Centre — 1055 Wilkes Ave.);
• Pavillon Canadien-français (Centre culturel franco-manitobain — 340 Provencher Blvd.; and
• Romanian (Bronx Park Community Centre — 720 Henderson Hwy.);
Week 2 pavilions (Aug. 9 to 15) in east Winnipeg include:
• British Isles (Heather Curling Club — 120 Youville St.);
• Caribbean (Centre culturel franco-manitobain — 340 Provencher Blvd.);
• Celtic Ireland (Fort Garry Curling Club — 696 Archibald St.);
• Chile Lindo (Holy Eucharist Parish Centre — 460 Munroe Ave.);
• Pabellón de España (Notre Dame Recreational Centre — 271 avenue de la Cathedrale); and
• Slovenija (Bronx Park Community Centre — 720 Henderson Hwy.).
