RWB’s Ballet in the Park returns July 28 to 30
The Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s annual Ballet in the Park series returns to the Lyric Theatre in Assiniboine Park from July 28 to 30.
The 2026 program opens with excerpts from Odyssey, a contemporary work by choreographer Dwight Rhoden.

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s annual Ballet in the Park series returns to the Lyric Theatre in Assiniboine Park from July 28 to 30.
The evening continues with a concert version of George Balanchine’s Who Cares?, set to the iconic music of George Gershwin.
Audiences will also enjoy a performance by students from the RWB School Recreational Division, featuring REBELS, a Junior Hip Hop Dance Ensemble work choreographed by Ella Rumak.
Ballet in the Park begins each evening at 6 p.m. with pre-show activities, including family-friendly programming, face painting, food trucks, merchandise, and a complimentary Creative Movement class for children before the performance.
Admission is free and no ticket or registration is required. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, water, and anything else they may need to enjoy an evening outdoors.
Grace Hospital Foundation collecting books for September sale
The Grace Hospital Foundation will hold its really book sale later this summer, and organizers are inviting donations.
The event will be held in the hospital’s Jeffrey A. Coleman Auditorium (408 Booth Dr.) on Friday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
According to the foundation’s website, people can donate books, games, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records, which can be placed in the dropbox located inside the “admitting” entrance at the west side of the hospital towards Sturgeon Road.
Visitors to the September sale are asked to bring their own bags.
