Emmanuel Bach Trio feat. Will Bonness @ The Nob

Led by Brazilian guitarist Emmanuel Bach, this trio brings together the sophistication of modern jazz with the rhythmic richness of Brazilian music. Emmanuel, originally from Brazil and now a key figure in the Winnipeg jazz scene, holds a master’s degree from the University of Manitoba, and currently teaches jazz guitar students and ensembles there. He has released three albums as a leader and performed with legends like Airto Moreira, Flora Purim, and Ivan Lins.

Each Saturday night performance features an opening set by the trio, , followed by a set with a special guest. This week’s trio features Karl Kohut (bass) and Josh Bonneteau (drums), and special guest is Juno Award winner Will Bonness (piano). And if a familiar face from the local music community happens to be in the house, don’t be surprised if Emmanuel waves them up for a tune!
