Prohibition Party (free live jazz & swing dance lesson)

On Friday, September 25, vocalist and pianist Amber Epp leads a 6-piece jazz band at River City Sports Bar & Events Centre for a one-night-only Prohibition Party—an evening of sparkling jazz, Roaring 20s cocktails, and vintage glamour.
The band features some of Winnipeg’s finest jazz players: Jon Challoner (trumpet), Jon Gordon (saxophone), Daniel Roy (drums), Liam Allan (bass), and Emmanuel Bach (guitar), with Amber Epp on voice and keys.
The evening includes a free swing dance lesson with Hepcat Studio at 6:30 PM, Happy Hour from 4–6 PM, Prohibition-inspired food and drink specials, and live music from 7:30–10:30 PM. Guests are encouraged to dress in vintage glamour—or come as you are.
Free entry. Ages 18+. Accessible venue. Lots of parking.
River City Sports Bar & Events Centre is a brand-new venue at 300-1395 Ellice Avenue—and it’s not your typical sports bar. Alongside big screens for the game, there’s a stage, a dance floor, and a chef making Filipino and Middle Eastern food.
