The Let’s Talk Science School for Witchcraft and Wizardry

The University of Winnipeg Let’s Talk Science Site will be opening, for the first time, a School for Witchcraft and Wizardry (W&W)! The event will take place on Saturday, October 25th from 10am-4pm at the UW campus. The School for Witchcraft and Wizardry is a Halloween-themed science event catered for school-aged children.
W&W will feature a scheduled list of activities with sessions hosted by the UW science departments: These include the Magical Creatures showcase hosted by the Department of Biology displaying some interesting creatures used for research and teaching; a Potions Making Class where the Department of Chemistry will ignite curiosity with their Chemistry Magic Show; and the Department of Physics will run the Forces of Magic show with their wonderous demonstrations of the forces that surround us in our day-to-day lives.
The event will also host miscellaneous spooky-themed craft activities throughout the day. And, the Department of Athletics and Kinesiology will hold Quidditch matches for some physical activity!
The event is free for attendees of all ages! If you are interested in attending, please use the QR code or the link to fill out the registration form! We have a maximum capacity of 200 people, so be sure to secure your spot quickly! We look forward to seeing you there.
