Ecole St. Eustache’s music class is going to become a little more musical thanks to a TD Canada Trust S’cool Life Fund.

Ecole St. Eustache was one of two Manitoban schools to receive $3,000 from the fund on Sept. 27.

Principal Nanette Ingram said the money will be used to improve the music program at the elementary school.

“Our music teacher has a wish list of things that will improve the music program here and she is looking forward to making some purchases for our students,” Ingram said.

Ingram said the music program is still relatively new at the small rural school , which has a population of approximately 90 students. She said the grant came as a pleasant surprise for students and staff at the school.

“This is huge for us because we don’t have a large budget,” she added.

Ingram said she was shocked that St. Eustache received the grant because so many schools apply for funding through the program each year.

“It’s an online grant that I applied for last year for the first time and somehow we were the successful recipients,” she said.
