The Metis Prairie Steppers entertained people of all ages who attended the National Aboriginal Day celebration at Portage la Prairie’s Fort la Reine Museum on June 21.

Troy Garneau kicked up his heels for a Red River jig. Popular local musician Johnny Dietrich and his band entertained the crowd.
Facepainting was a hit with children.
A teepee, erected by the Portage Friendship Centre’s staff and volunteers, offered a glimpse back in time, along with the many historic buildings located on the museum’s grounds.
Portage la Prairie firefighter Jared Bergen showed off one of the local fire department’s vehicles.
