Grandmother Tree, a sculpture by Steinbach artists Alexandra Ross and Audrey Hiebert, was one of several onsite art installations on view at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, which ran July 6-9 at Birds Hill Park. It was inspired by a giant cedar found in the Sandilands Provincial Forest, near Marchand, Man. The branches were constructed from driftwood gathered from Manitoba lakes and beaches.
