Ventura Land Company donated $15,000 to the LSCU Complex on Aug. 2 to mark the official opening of its Prairie View Park.
Ventura’s vice-president of development Tim Comack made the donation to LSCU Complex board secretary Brian Cornelsen. Macdonald reeve Brad Erb and councillors Deidre Keddie and Robert Turski attended the donation event.
Comack said the donation reflects Ventura’s work to have its Prairie View Lakes development tie in with La Salle’s existing active transportation route and enhance the community’s recreation opportunities.

“Prairie View Park is part of our commitment. This creates a space for all to use,” Comack said.
The 2.5-acre park is located on Fourth Avenue. Comack said a pathway from the park will skirt ponds and continue throughout the development as new homes are built further south of Fourth Avenue.
Cornelsen said Ventura’s donation will be used to fund the complex’s ongoing improvements that include pathways, drainage and landscaping.
Erb said the multi-phase Prairie View Lakes development shows how a developer can work with the municipality to support the local active transportation network.
