J.A. Cuddy students took part in the We Scare Hunger campaign on Halloween night, collecting close to 250 non-perishable food items.

Feed the Children’s We Scare Hunger campaign has become one of the school’s annual events after first being introduced by Benjamin Brigg, of Domain, who started collecting non-perishable food items with his older brother Nathan in 2014. All items collected are donated to a local food bank.

The Morris food bank is the recipient of this year’s collection efforts by 16 students from Grades 6 to 8.

“My mother said that it made her happy that I would use Halloween not just to collect candy for myself, but to collect food for other people who really need it,” said student Kristjan Eyolfson.

“All the staff is very proud of the boys and girls who gave time during Halloween evening to help out others in our community who are in need. These are students who will become active, responsible citizens who demonstrate that they care,” said J.A. Cuddy principal Scott Thomson.
