Who says you can’t get fit in style?

Fukumoto Fitness is encouraging locals to get in shape while celebrating Halloween. The fourth annual Pumpkin Charity Workout will support the Canadian Cancer Society’s breast cancer research initiatives.

Participants are encouraged to dress up in costume, while bringing proper workout shoes. The event will take place on Nov. 2 at 9:30 a.m., though gym owner and head trainer Johnny Fukumoto said a second session will be added at 11 a.m. if there is demand for it.

The session is offered for a minimum $15 donation. Fukumoto noted the event raised over $1,000 last year, a mark he hopes to top this time around. He also noted local businesses have helped out, as Schwabe Pumpkins on Henderson Highway have provided pumpkins to the event.
