East St. Paul election results

On Oct. 24, residents of wards 1 and 3 in the RM of East St. Paul went to the polls.

In Ward 1, Carla Devlin unseated incumbent councillor Mike Wasylin, who was first elected to council in 2002. Devlin won the seat with 393 votes, while Wasylin received 322 and challenger John O’Grodnik received 101.

In Ward 3, incumbent Brian Duval, who was first elected in 2014, was challenged by James Dyck. Duval held his seat, receiving 473 votes to Dyck’s 70 votes.

Mayor Shelley Hart and councillors Orest Horechko (Ward 2) and Charles Posthumus (Ward 4) were elected by acclamation. Hart was first elected mayor in 2014, while Horechko has been on council since 2014, and Posthumus has served since 2006.
