The City of Winnipeg will begin plowing residential streets on Thurs., Jan 7. As a result, a residential parking ban will go into effect at 7 a.m. that day. The zone-by-zone plowing schedule is as follows:
Thurs., Jan. 7, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Zones D, G, H, P, S Jan. 7, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Fri., Jan. 8: Zones E, F, J, K, L, M, N, R Jan. 8, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Zones B, I, O, Q, T, U, V Jan. 8, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sat., Jan. 9: Zone A Jan. 9, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m: Zone C Residents can find their snow zones using the City’s online address lookup tool, by using the Know Your Zone app, or by contacting 311. When their streets are scheduled for snow clearing, residents should find alternate places to park, such as an off-street driveway or parking lot, or a nearby street that has already been cleared. Vehicles parked in violation of the residential parking ban may receive a $150 ticket ($112.50 if paid early), and may be towed to a nearby street that is not scheduled to be plowed, or has already been cleared. If you believe your vehicle may have been towed due to the ban, contact 311. Approximately 300 pieces of heavy equipment will be used for this snow clearing operation; motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and to use extreme caution when driving near heavy equipment working.
