Exhale Dance Studio students have a ball

The River Park South-based studio was one of the sponsors of the charity gala, which was presented by Happily Ever Parties, and held in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

Shannon Putter, the studio’s owner and creative director, is “extremely proud” of Exhale’s X-Press and X-Hilarate company dancers who “put their heart and soul” into dancing at the annual ball.

“For the second year, Exhale was involved in the performance aspect of the ball, providing an exciting opportunity to the studio,” Putter told The Lance by email, noting the students performed two ballet routines and dances matching this year’s theme of The Little Mermaid.

She’s also grateful for the donations collected by her students for last December’s “Donate Your Way Out of Dress Code” campaign, as well as the families that came out to support the studio’s “Back to Dance Bash” last September.

With the proceeds and its own donation, Exhale was able to present a cheque for $1,000 to the ball in support of the foundation. “We continue to be amazed at the hearts of our students and staff,” Putter said. “We are proud of their efforts to give back to the community and help others in need.”  

Putter opened Exhale — which is located at 12-1500 Dakota St. — in 2014, and the studio caters to individuals aged two to adult, and offers numerous types of classes including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, and lyrical, as well classes for boys only.
