Lifelong St. Vital resident Bob Holliday — who has been a journalist, sports organizer, ring announcer and wrestling promoter, among other things, during his long and colourful career — was recognized for his contributions to the community with the renaming of the eastern portion of Sadler Avenue as Bob Holliday Way on Wed., July 22, and he certainly drew a crowd of local dignitaries. Pictured, above right, are (from left): Coun. Markus Chambers (St. Norbert-Seine River); Riel MLA Rochelle Squires; Winnipeg Police Association president Maurice (Moe) Sabourin; Holliday; Saint Boniface-Saint Vital MP Dan Vandal; St. Boniface MLA Dougald Lamont; St. Vital MLA Jamie Moses; Coun. Brian Mayes (St. Vital).
